<br/>南传佛教在台湾的发展——去地域化与在地化的影响<br/>弘光科技大学通识教育中心 陈家伦 <br/>发表於2007年台湾社会学年会 <br/>11/24/2007 <br/>(本文为初稿,未经作者同意,请勿引用.) <br/>1 本文来自於2005年国科会专题研究计画「南传佛教在台湾与美国发展之比较——去地域化与在地化<br/>的影响」(NSC 94-2412-H-241-002)的部份研究成果.本文初稿发表於2007年台湾社会学年会<br/>(2007/11/24). <br/><br/>南传佛教在台湾的发展——去地域化与在地化的影响 <br/>摘要 <br/>本文从「去地域化」和「在地化」的观点,解析南传佛教在台湾的发展之意义.<br/>研究的结果将与南传佛教有关的团体,分成外来团体,本土专弘,本土兼弘,法师<br/>转向但寺院未转向以及对南传友善或开放的团体等四大类.这些类别的差异反映出<br/>外来佛教团体与本土佛教团体互动的多样的结果.在此架构下,本文探讨南传佛教<br/>与台湾原始佛教运动的关连,南传佛教与台湾本土佛教在经典,戒律与禅修方式的<br/>差异 南传佛教在台湾发展的优势与劣势等问题,讨论南传佛教对台湾佛教的影响<br/>及其宗教文化意涵.外来南传佛教部份伴随移民之宗教需求而来,部份应台湾本土<br/>信众之需求应邀而来,也扮演传播南传佛教的角色.南传佛教对台湾本土佛教最要<br/>的影响则在於与原始佛教运动结合,提供台湾佛教信众新的选择(包括佛教菁英的<br/>转向),提供台湾本土佛教新的宗教元素等. <br/>关键字:台湾佛教,南传佛教,上座部佛教,内观,全球化,去地域化,在地化. <br/><br/>The Development of Theravada Buddhism in Taiwan: <br/>Deterritorialization and Localization <br/>Chialuen Chen <br/>Center for General Education at Hungkung University <br/>Abstract <br/>This project explores the contemporary development of Buddhism in Taiwan from <br/>the perspective of globalization. Imported Theravada Buddhism has many significant <br/>differences from Taiwan Buddhism in religious ideas and practices. To understand the <br/>development of Theravada Buddhism in Taiwan helps to clarify the processes and <br/>consequences of the deterritorialization or delocalization of the imported Buddhist <br/>Tradition. The result shows that Theravada Buddhism in Taiwan has many different <br/>contexts which typify different social and cultural meaning. Native groups are <br/>outnumbered imported groups. Some groups only focus on Theravada Buddhism/ Original <br/>Buddhism, while more groups introduce Theravada Buddhism/Original Buddhism as <br/>complements of established Buddhism. I explore the influences of Theravada <br/>Buddhism/Original Buddhism on Taiwan's Buddhism from the dimensions of sutra, <br/>spiritual practices and vinaya. I also clarify the complicated relationship between <br/>Theravada Buddhism and Original Buddhism Movement in Taiwan. <br/>Keywords: Theravada Buddhism, Taiwanese Buddhism, Insight Movement, Original <br/>Buddhist Movement, globalization, deterritorialization, delocalization.
