<P>开车从华林出发沿着思<FONT face="Times New Roman">. </FONT>萨克公路走<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>帕<FONT face="Times New Roman">.</FONT>那那恰寺<FONT face="Times New Roman">(</FONT>意为国际森林寺<FONT face="Times New Roman">)</FONT>最初进入视野的印象是<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>绵长高筑的墙后有一片森林。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>林木高耸<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>生长茂密<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>与周围地形有着显著的反差。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>炎热的下午来到这里<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>进入大门时仿佛来到了一个不同的世界。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>沿着车道上行<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>看出去如同进入一条由树木组成的隧道。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>一进寺院的车道<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>即刻就有了阴凉感<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>在树林的覆盖之下<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>阳光只能穿过缝隙<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>在稀疏几处投下炽热的光亮。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>车道宽阔<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>扫净<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>一百米之后视野开阔起来<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>车辆进入环形路。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>右边一幢又长又矮的建筑是厨房<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>再往前是未加装饰的大型正厅<FONT face="Times New Roman">(<I>sala</I>)</FONT>。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>车辆可以绕过环形路回转<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>但不许继续前行。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>环行路围绕的中央地带<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>有一幢奇怪的棕色长方型建筑<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>顶上松松垮垮盖着几张皱铁皮。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>过几天<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>也许会有一大群人聚集着<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>这里是村民们火葬死者之处<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>远早于帕<FONT face="Times New Roman">. </FONT>那那恰寺构建之前<FONT face="Times New Roman">, (</FONT>火葬<FONT face="Times New Roman">)</FONT>就一直在这里进行了。<FONT face="Times New Roman">

<P>二十五年前这所寺院的成立<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>是颇出意料的。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>阿姜苏美多那时已经跟随龙波查<FONT face="Times New Roman">(</FONT>即阿姜查<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>龙波是泰语尊敬的父亲之意<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>对寺院年长僧侣的亲切称呼<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>有点类似于中文的师父<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>如今苏美多比丘也被称为龙波了<FONT face="Times New Roman">----</FONT>译者注<FONT face="Times New Roman">)</FONT>在农帕蓬寺受教多年<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>他和一群西方籍比丘<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>正打算火烧几只僧钵。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>这个过程是在铁钵外烤上一道防锈层<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>需要在大火中烧炼多个小时。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>农帕蓬寺的林子里找不到足够的干柴<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>因为那里比丘多<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>染袍和洗袍总要用到干柴。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>因此有人建议阿姜苏美多和其它几位比丘去邻近蓬外村的林子<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>那里有充足的落木与干竹。<FONT face="Times New Roman">

<P>如同经常发生的情形那样<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>比丘们准备离开时<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>当地村民们恳求他们留下来。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>正巧龙波查已经决定要专门为老外们建立一所农帕蓬寺的分寺。<FONT face="Times New Roman">  </FONT>阿姜苏美多已经跟随龙波查八年<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>他将担任老师<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>老外们以自己的语言接受训练。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>因此<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>如在泰国经常发生的情形一样<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>一位比丘在树上挂伞的简单之举作了种子<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>发芽生长成为一座充满活力的寺院。

<P 0in 0pt?>实际上<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>并没有太多的访客坐旅游车前来<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>但是雨季安居快要开始之前<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>人群确实会多起来<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>那时居家人开始为期几天的旅游朝拜<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>一天之内也许去访问六家寺院<FONT face="Times New Roman"> (</FONT>还包括两次购物<FONT face="Times New Roman">)</FONT>。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>他们去了农帕蓬寺之后<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>几乎就非得来这里<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>看看老外僧住的地方。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>接待这样的访问有时很直接。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>通常他们只是来快速看一眼<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>并不指望有什么佛法教导。<FONT face="Times New Roman">  </FONT>看一看剃光头<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>着僧袍的外国人<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>就足以留下深刻印象了。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>然而<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>随着泰国居家众对佛法修持的进一步参与<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>这样的肤浅兴趣似乎有所改观。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>尽管对话也许以貌似肤浅的简单问题开始<FONT face="Times New Roman">: “</FONT>这里有几位比丘<FONT face="Times New Roman">?” “</FONT>你们一天只吃一顿吗<FONT face="Times New Roman">?”, </FONT>但是越来越能注意到<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>对话会转向禅修<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>在日常生活中怎样修持佛法。

<P 0in 0pt?>寺院为几个不同而且相当特别的群体服务<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>对住持来说<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>保持平衡是相当难的。有许多来自世界各地的人<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>出于许多不同的原因<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>在这里度过时光<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>通过经历寺院生活<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>培养他们对佛教的理解与修持。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>长久而忠实的支持<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>当然来自于当地蓬外村的村民<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>他们中间有十多个人<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>每天来这里煮饭<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>帮助杂务。还有许多从本地的华林与乌邦来的一贯护持者。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>曼谷有相当一部分人<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>有机会就来留住<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>其中一群航空服务员甚至安排他们的班次<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>在戒日那天晚上飞到乌邦<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>在寺里禅修一夜<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>然后乘早班机回到曼谷。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>实际上<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>每周一次的布撒日<FONT face="Times New Roman">(<I>Wan Phra, Uposatha day</I>, </FONT>戒日<FONT face="Times New Roman"> ), </FONT>常常有将近<FONT face="Times New Roman">100</FONT>人来持守八戒<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>在寺院里坐禅<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>听佛法开示<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>一直坐到第二天黎明。<FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT>在这些戒日里<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>住持和副住持分开照应不同的人群<FONT face="Times New Roman">, </FONT>在不同地点以英语和泰语同时开讲。
